Sweepers

The sweeper is a machine that can sweep over any indoor and outdoor paved surface, such as ceramic tiles, porcelain tiles, marble, concrete, resilient materials and carpeting, collecting both coarse dirt and fine dust at the same time. A sweeper may be equipped with one or two side brushes which convey dirt to a roller brush placed in the centre, which collects dust and debris and loads them into the appropriate container.

Man-behind sweepers

More compact and agile, they are suitable for small areas or areas having several obstacles. The operator can drive the machine by means of special handles on the back.

Ride-on sweepers

They are equipped with a seat for the operator and a steering wheel for driving. The ergonomic seats and high working performance allow cleaning large spaces such as warehouses, airports, shopping malls, parking lots in less time without tiring the operator.

How to choose the right sweeper for your needs

  • Machine dimensions: for a narrow surface or where there are obstacles and obstructions, such as driveways, courtyards, a man-behind sweeper is more suitable, since it is more compact and easier to drive. A ride-on sweeper is the most suitable choice when working on large surfaces.
  • Working time: a key parameter to take into account is the working capacity (sq m /h), which is the total amount of surface area that a sweeper can clean in the unit of time ensuring effective cleaning.
  • Characteristics of the space to be cleaned: an essential factor in the choice of a sweeper is the type of power supply: if you need to work only outdoors, a model with an internal combustion engine (diesel or gasoline) is recommended. If, on the contrary, the use must be both indoor and outdoor the battery or manual models are preferable; in closed spaces, in fact, the use of internal combustion engines is forbidden.

Sweeper maintenance

Let's see when, how often and how the maintenance of a sweeper has to be done.

After each use, the recovery tank must be emptied of waste. In addition, the batteries need to be recharged, so that the machine is always ready and at full power for next use.

Every week, the following operations should be done:

  • Disassembling and cleaning the filter
  • Checking the wear of the driving components
  • General cleaning of the brushes

The following operations, however, should be done every month

  • Checking and cleaning the pivoting wheels
  • Checking the intake hoses and ducts for clogging and obstruction
